Why I'm not writing

I still really bring myself to write anything substantial. I want, however, to point some light at this very nice and brilliant piece by Jeanne d'Arc over at Body and Soul.

I think this war is finally coming home to a lot of people. I now personally know people who will soon go over to that Hell. I wish them luck and safety.

You know, I never see yellow ribbons anymore. I'm still wearing mine on my bookbag. The old ribbon, now tattered, has been there since the war began over 13 months ago. It's barely yellow now.

The news that the inactive reserves were being activated also hit home too. No, my coast guard friend isn't going. But I'm sure they'll send others I know.

I don't know how much longer this hiatus will last. I really need to think about it. There's a Friedrich Nietzsche quote that I like:

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Just think on that for a moment.

Everybody who wrote...thanks for everything. I apologize for not writing back. It just hasn't been a good time here lately.

tired...and a hiatus

I am just worn out. I think I might take a break from all of this.

It has a lot to do with the fact that I really just have no more outrage to give out. From the prison photos that are disgusting beyond words (and will result in an attack on the United States soon, I have a sinking feeling) to one of my fraternity brothers being called up by the Army to go (and maybe another very good friend who's in the Coast Guard Reserves...this one hurts more than my frat brother going overseas) to the Nick Berg video...i'm just spent. I'm burnt out.

Bush just has to go. I have to go for now too. An undetermined hiatus for now. For those who I'm working on projects on---I'm still available. Let me know what you want me to do and I'll be able to do it fairly quickly. My summer job is kind of dull and I get paid some days to just sit there and write... I just won't be updating this blog for some time to come. I still want people to help out the causes over on the left side, so if you can spare a penny, go for it.

and does this item over at KOS include coast guard reservists? On second though, you probably shouldn't answer that. I might freak out again.

That annoying thing known as a personal life has interfered with my blogging. I don't know when I will get the projects I promised done but it will likely be by next Wednesday AT THE LATEST...and you can hold me to that.

I'm real sorry but I just have to handle stuff.

It's going to be a little bit longer than I thought it would be. I'm not writing on Kerry this week though, maybe next week.

Sunday, May 2, 2004

I am preparing some stuff for the upcoming week so if anyone is still out there, be patient.

A short preview:

1. Something on fundamentalism. This is part of a project I'm working on with Team Agonist.

2. A little more fundraising (for me and the four candidates I support---mainly for the candidates although a dime or two to help me out would be great).

3. Maybe something on Kerry. He's annoying me lately by focusing on a war that ended a long time ago. I know he has to respond to the RNC Talking Points, but seriously. If he wants to be President of the greatest nation to grace this planet then he's gotta start talking his vision.

This should keep me busy because my old job doesn't start back up until May 11. That means a lot of blogging!

An Ironic look at the past.

I bet the Onion feels sick writing this now.
